This collection celebrates beadwork by creating statement pieces from beads of all shapes and sizes to represent themes and concepts.  These pieces celebrate creativity and are dedicated to makers.  The wearable art pieces are intended to bring joy and stimulate the imagination.

This wearable art piece is an Afro-Futurist update on Ndebele Chokers, a traditional statement worn by ladies of the Ndebele people as an expression of wealth and loyalty to her husband.  For more information, read this Zkhiphani article.

In this piece, I explore Afro-Futurism, regalia, and royalty.  While creating this set, I thought of what royal jewelry would look like if it were eco-conscious, Afro-centric wearable art.  The purpose of this piece is to express positive feelings for African culture, tradition, pride, strength, and femininity.

Product Information:

This 2-piece necklace set is made from African metal, salvaged, glass, coil, and crystal beads and from gold-plated stainless steel, gold-plated brass, and gold-finished brass metals.  Both necklaces have a swivel lobster claw clasp closure.
